HUMANITY
The whole world is divided into several religions based on different types of traditions, cultures, and regions. One common thing among all is that we all are humans who are divided by religions but united by humanity. Humanity is the basic trait of being human. It simply means that you consider a person human first, everything else is secondary, be it his caste, religion, country, or language. Before becoming the disciple of any religion, we should first become a good human.
In today’s world, we have failed to inculcate the virtue of humanity in our children. Humanity is what we need to teach our children a better world tomorrow. The children will learn what they will see. And today’s scenario does not imply a good future.
Martin Luther King Junior once said, “ Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that”. It is totally applicable in today’s context. Now, when countries are on the verge of attacking each other, we need to teach our children the core human values, which are love and compassion.
We have become so busy in our personal lives that if we see something inhumane happening to someone, we do not bother. We just pass by, if any such news is coming on the television, we change the channel. But this is not the solution. It does not affect us because it is not happening to us or to our loved ones. Yes, we will cry our hearts out if any such thing happens to someone close to us.
That will be a wake-up call for many such people who do not pay attention. Before that happens, we must decide to impart the basic values to the new generation as they will become the world leaders tomorrow and will be responsible for maintaining peace among states, countries, and continents which is very much necessary to save the human race.
